The Seven Principles of RESPECTisms For Kidz
This week was a milestone for RESPECTisms as we completed our first RESPECTisms Key Stage 2 programme.
The programme was held at Nightingale Primary School in Harringay. We had a mixture of year 4 & 5 students in the sessions.
The Seven Principles of RESPECTisms For Kidz is an engaging programme that contains seven life-changing focus areas that teaches young people about respect and responsibility.
The programme delivers fun and interactive lessons that can be used to support Primary SEAL, PSHE & Citizenship curriculum.
The Seven Principles of RESPECTisms for Kidz is based on a collection of stories about seven characters and their friends. In these fun and engaging stories the characters experiences at home and at school relay positive messages to the listeners about the seven focus areas of RESPECTisms. Responsibility - Education - Say No - Peers - Expectations - Consequences& Time. Simple and fun stories containing familiar dilemmas, problems and joyful events that the children can relate to
Story themes include: loss, talking to strangers, negative peer pressure, working together, supporting each other, dealing with complex emotions, falling out with each other, ways of tacking bullying, benefits of learning, perseverance, achieving goals, self-esteem, responsibility and social skills.
Each lesson offers the chance for your pupils to participate so that they can become fully involved in the meaning of the story being told and therefore understand the message more clearly.
Each story and lesson can also be used completely independently of SEAL and are designed to be perfect for all pupils, regardless of age or ability.
The pupils and teachers were very positive about the programme. For more information on this programme see RESPECTisms Key Stage 2.
We are now looking forward to rolling the programme out across London.
